Dr. Abdelateif Hassan Ibrahim is an Associate Professor at the Department of Agricultural Economics, University of Khartoum and former Head of the same Department. In his 20 years as University staff and researcher Dr. Abdelateif has supervised many B.Sc., M.Sc. and PhD students in the field of Agricultural Economics and related disciplines. He also published and presented more than 52 articles on agricultural economics and marketing issues in peer journals and conferences. His work has examined the agricultural marketing, economics of food security, rural finance, value chain analysis of crops and animal products, agroforestry systems and rural livelihood. Researches on poverty alleviation, environmental issues, climate change and feasibility studies and projects evaluation were also done by him. Dr. Abdelateif has advanced knowledge and practice of computer programming and its applications in development projects. He also served as team leader, trainer, consultant and coordinator for many national and international projects. He had been the principal investigator of more than 15 research projects conducted in Sudan in last five years. Dr. Abdelateif earned M.Sc. in Forest Economics at TU- Dresden, Germany and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen, Germany. His current position is the Director of University of Khartoum farm. He is also active editor and reviewer of many scientific Journals in Sudan and abroad. Dr. Abdelateif fluent in Arabic and English, has good skills in German.
