Biography
Dr. Sadek has worked for over thirty years in the practice, research, and academic lecturing of regional and urban planning, design. He was engaged with government institutions, leading international consulting firms, and academia throughout Europe, the Middle East, and the Arab Gulf States. He is currently advising the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MOEI) on developing the UAE Smart National Spatial Development Planning System. He was involved in developing and implementing several innovative national, regional, and urban spatial development strategies. He has also developed a group of human-centered development regulations and guidelines for liveable, sustainable, and resilient places; the most notable and exciting was designing the culturally contextualized and award-winning Estidama program to plan and design sustainable communities and buildings. Besides, on the academic front, Dr. Sadek has held several positions as an adjunct professor for graduate and undergraduate programs.
