Biography
Dr. Dimah Mahmoud is a humanist, activist, and passionate change-maker. Her extensive interdisciplinary expertise lay at the nexus of research, strategy and impact reflected in the diverse conferences she organizes as well as initiatives and collaborations she spearheads. Her work contributes to advancing sustainable socio-economic and political development in Africa, its diaspora and the Middle East. She consulted for the League of Arab States, UN Women Arabia, El Karama foundation, Arab America Foundation, FUTOUR and more recently for EURAXESS North America and The Antiquities Coalition. Additionally, she co-founded The Nubia Initiative (TNI), a transboundary organization aimed at leveraging art, academia and technology to protect, preserve and promote endangered Nubian heritage and languages. Her personal passion projects are the Joint European Mentoring Initiative (JEMI) and the Pan African Synergy Symposium both of which she is leverages her substantial program and content management expertise to co-create a comprehensive platform for scientific diaspora reengagement. Dr. Mahmoud completed her MA and Ph.D. at the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom on Middle East Policy Studies and Sudanese Foreign Policy and International Legitimacy respectively. She obtained her Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from Towson University in the USA.
