Biography
Asma was born in White Nile, Sudan. She was awarded her PhD degree in Biopesticides from Sudan Academy of Sciences (SAS), MSc from University of Khartoum and BSc from Gezira University. She was appointed as a research assistant in the Department of Biopesticides and Biofertilizers, ENDRI, NCR, Khartoum, since 1997. She published many papers on biological control of vegetable insect pests using predators and parasitoids. Also she conducted many research studies on natural products for the control of vegetable and store pests. Currently she is a head of insect rearing and control unit in the previous Department. She is a member of several committees and Societies; PhD Sudan Academy of Sciences (SAS) - bio - pesticides (2009). Thesis title: Biological and ecological studies of some natural enemies associated with Schizaphis graminum (Rond.) (Homoptera : Aphididae); MSc University of Khartoum- Faculty of Agriculture - Plant Protection (2002). Thesis title: Investigations in the use of intercropped fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.) and its extracts in control of musk melon pests and assessment of their side effects on predator population;BSc University of Gezira - Faculty of Agriculture - Plant Protection (Honors - Division two class 1) (1995)
