Geoff King was a Team Leader with sustainable development charity Raleigh International between January and May this year. He led a team of International Citizen Service (ICS) volunteers on an Entrepreneurship project in rural Tanzania, primarily focused on working with young people to develop business skills. Geoff has a Masters in Geography and Management Studies from the University of Cambridge. Prior to the ICS programme, he was a Senior Researcher at Brook Lyndhurst, a research and strategy consultancy working on issues related to sustainable development. He worked on projects investigating pro-environmental behaviour change for clients including DECC, Defra, The Scottish Government and the Fairtrade Foundation. He also spent three months as a visiting researcher at the Centre for Sustainability (CSAFE) at the University of Otago, New Zealand. Since his return from Tanzania, Geoff has worked in the Social Purpose team at insight and brand consultancy Flamingo, and at FusePump (part of the Wunderman network). He hopes to build expertise in marketing, communications and behavioural insight and apply this to global development challenges in the future.
