Biography
Hamid is a development professional; coming from a multi-disciplinary background, with qualifications in International Development and Communications Engineering. Hamid has eight of years of voluntary experience in the nonprofit sector in Sudan. As a young volunteer, he started engaging with several nonprofits in Sudan working on a diverse range of fields. He joined the Scouting movement at an early age and became a Scouts Leader in 2010, where he worked with young Boy Scouts. He also co-founded a charity that has been operating for eight years now, to help less-privileged families in Sudan. In 2011, he joined the Nile Swimmers, an international organization working on water safety, where he acted as a Director of Resources and delivered various projects funded by big donors. Hamid has volunteered in many field projects around Sudan, where he worked with refugees, IDPs, and ex child soldiers. He has gained valuable skills from his work with nonprofits, particularly, leadership, fundraising, and communication skills. Hamid has special interest in community development, public policy and human rights.
