Biography
I am a Sociologist, Developmentalist, Methodologist and Gender Expert. I have extensive experience in the field of International Development. I have engaged in a multi-disciplinary approach to key developmental challenges of particular relevance to developing countries, my work has inter alia focused on: global health, medical tourism, migration and diaspora studies, diaspora tourism, sports tourism, gender & development, gender & leadership, leadership in higher education, poverty alleviation, climate change, youth & delinquency in the Caribbean. As a researcher and consultant, I have played a leading role in several projects funded by International Agencies such as the Inter American Development Bank (IDB), The World Bank, The European Union (EU), The Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) (London), International Organization for Migration (IOM) and The International Development Research Centre (IDRC). I also lecture in the areas of Sociology, Gender and Development Studies, Gender Policy and Planning and Advanced and Applied Research Methods.
