Biography
Dr Saima Nafis received her medical degree (MBBS) from Karachi, Pakistan. She worked in different hospitals for seven years in Pakistan. Later she moved to the UK. She won the scholarship at Swansea University, UK and achieved her postgraduate degree of MSc in Public Health and Health Promotion, In October 2017, Saima was successful in winning a Coventry University DDRI Doctoral Studentship for the project “Innovation for Dementia & Cognitive Impairment: Evaluation of Digital Health and Wellbeing Apps in ‘Real-Life’ Residential Settings”. Her doctoral research was focused on improving the quality of life and well-being of older people living in care home settings. She is a Fellow member of Royal Society of Public Health, Associate member of Academy of Higher Education, Member of Faculty of Public Health (UK) and a member of INTERDEM Academy and CHCI Health and Medical Humanities Network. She is also a representative of Arts Health ECRN in West Midland. Her interest lies in digital health and global health promotion. In her free time, she works voluntarily for different charity organisations and supports their work to promote health and reduce health inequalities.
