Prof. Stavros Mavroudeas (Greece)

Professor of Political Economy at the University of Macedonia. Studied at the Economics Department of the National Kapodistriakon University of Athens (BA Economics 1985 - First Class Honours), School of Oriental and African Studies - University of London (Msc Economics 1986), Birkbeck College, University of London (PhD Economics 1990). Worked as Lecturer (1992-1996), Assistant Professor (1996), Associate Professor (2002 - 2013) and Professor (2013 - today) in Political Economy at the Department of Economics of the University of Macedonia. His teaching and research fields include: Political Economy, History of Economic Thought, Labour Economics, Economic Growth and Development Economics, Greek Economy. Pblished in several academic journals and authored several books in English and in Greek . Founding member of the Greek Association of Political Economy and served in its board as Secretary (2009-13). Participated in many academic conferences as presenter, chair, member of the organizational and/or the scientific committee. Member of the editorial board, advisory committee and/or reviewer for several academic journals. Visiting researcher in several universities (SOAS, City University, Kingston University etc.). Has given many academic lectures in Greece and abroad.
