Biography
Steffen Boehm is Professor in Organisation Studies at the University of Exeter and Former Director of the Essex Sustainability Institute (ESI) at the University of Essex, Colchester. Prof Boehm leads the The Agroecology Network, bringing together experts working in agroecology and sustainable rural livelihoods, exploring the potential for sustainable and resilient business practices for small and medium-sized UK producers. Steffen also runs a research project on the connections between local food and well-being in the East of England, co-funded by the East of England Co-operative Society and the British Academy. He holds a PhD from the University of Warwick.His research focuses on political economies and ecologies of organization, management and the environment. He was a co-founder of the open-access journal ephemera: theory & politics in organization, and is co-founder and co-editor of the new open-access publishing press MayFlyBooks as well as Interface: A Journal for and about Social Movements. He has published four books: Repositioning Organization Theory(Palgrave), Against Automobility (Blackwell), Upsetting the Offset: The Political Economy of Carbon Markets (Mayfly), and The Atmosphere Business (Mayfly).
