Biography
Thomas J. Sykes, AIA, PP, has over 30 years of design experience. In 1979, he founded a solo practice that has since grown into SOSH Architects, a firm of over 50 design professionals and support personnel, with offices in both Atlantic City and New York City. The outstanding designs Tom has developed for a variety of educational, municipal, medical, corporate, and community projects demonstrate his commitment to improving the communities in which he works. He has extensive experience in large-scale projects for clients in both the public and private sectors. Tom has received dozens of awards for his creative designs and has lectured at many professional institutions including Princeton University, Stockton University, and the Cornell School of Hotel Administration. In addition, he contributed a chapter on design for Building Type Basics for Hospitality Facilities (John Wiley & Sons, 2001). Tom received his Bachelor of Architecture with Honors from the University of Notre Dame.
