Biography
Yumn Elameer is a student at MIT who is studying Mechanical Engineering with a computer science concentration. She aspires to build biomedical devices to help with disease discovery and prevention as well as incorporating AI to these tools to ease recovery. Yumn also finds prosthetics interesting and wants to work on making them more affordable and effective. She is a very dedicated student and loves to be involved in her school. Yumn is currently Academic Excellence Chair of her NSBE chapter and Publicity Chair for Engineers Without Borders and Sudanese@MIT. She is also part of her school’s Robotics Team and Muslim Student Association. Additionally, Yumn has been doing research at MIT where she researches a variety of drug delivery methods, like implantable neural devices and gastric residence capsules. She also researchers different medications and disease to help increase the usage of these devices.
