Biography

Prof. Dewi Masyithah Darlan is a senior academic and parasitologist at Universitas Sumatera Utara whose work bridges biomedical science, public health, and community engagement to support sustainable development. Through interdisciplinary studies and community-based programmes, she contributes to improving disease prevention, nutritional status, and health literacy in low-resource settings. Her initiatives emphasise the role of women, families, and local communities in strengthening health outcomes and social resilience.

In the academic sphere, she is actively involved in postgraduate education, curriculum development, and research capacity building, aligning biomedical training with public health priorities. She also participates in national and international collaborations that connect local health challenges with global development agendas.
