Biography
Mr. Janai Leonce is a Saint Lucian born economist and father. He attained a bachelor’s in science degree in Economic and Management from the University of the West Indies and a master’s in science degree from Durham University in the United Kingdom. He has over 10 years of experience in public policy and finance having worked at the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank and holding senior positions in the Saint Lucian government, including that of Chief Economist at the Department of Finance in Saint Lucia. Furthermore, Mr. Leonce’s research interest including understanding the determinants of unemployment in developing economies and assessing the economic consequences of gender disparities. Mr. Leonce have shared his insights with the local community having moderated debates, panel discussions and been the guest speaker at graduation functions.
