Dr Khaled Elmawazini (Gulf University of Science & Technology) Kuwait

My current position is an associate professor of economics and finance & Department Head at the Gulf University of Science and Technology (AACSB accredited). I received my Ph.D. from the University of East London, and MA (Econ.), from the University of Ottawa. My teaching and academic research experience are sixteen years at the University of Ottawa, Albright College -Pennsylvania, KIMEP university, and Gulf University for Science & Technology. In addition, I have work experience with empirical research, international development (United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) project: EGY/90/015), market analysis, panel data analysis, statistical and econometric methods, and decision support systems of about eleven years.

I supervised dozens of theses and research projects at the undergraduate and graduate (DBA /MBA/MA) levels. I have teaching experience in the following undergraduate and graduate (MBA/MA/DBA) courses: Econometrics (DBA / MA), Industrial Organization, Government and Business, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, World Economy, Quantitative Analysis (DBA), Economic and Business Forecasting (MA), Economics for Managers (MBA), Principles of Economics, Money and Banking and Monetary Theory, Statistical Analysis for Economics and Business, Economic Development, International Finance (MBA) and Advanced Topics in Economics (MBA).

Recently, I awarded the 2023/2024 Most Innovated Faculty” and received “Outstanding” in teaching, research, and service activities in 2017/2018, 2018/2019, 2019/2020, 2020/2021, 2021/2022, 2022/203, and 2023/2024 . I am also a referee for well-respected journals (e.g. Journal of Technology Transfer (JCR impact factor 2.932)). I received many research awards and grants during the period 2006-present (e.g. KFAS 2015-2017 research grant (US$ 23,699.12), GUST Faculty Fellowship during the summer session at the University of Missouri at St. Louis, USA, and Albright Creative Research Award (ACRE) in Economics and Business). Also, I have been chosen as the winner of the KIMEP award for excellence in research. The objective of the award is to recognize annually one professor for outstanding contributions to university research.
