Biography
Professor Luisa Morales-Maure is a mathematics education researcher at the University of Panama whose work advances equitable learning across Latin America. She leads GIEM-21 and coordinates ECO-TD Regional, bringing universities, teachers and families together to strengthen educational pathways through teacher development, responsible digital innovation and research. Through EDEM and EMAS, she has supported the professional growth of primary and secondary mathematics teachers in Panama. Her research explores how educational data and collaboration can address territorial disparities while building on the strengths of local communities. She is committed to turning research into meaningful opportunities for learners, particularly girls and students in vulnerable settings. Her work contributes to SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
