Biography
Dr Mahalia Jackman is a senior lecturer in the Department of Economics at The University of the West Indies (UWI), Cave Hill Campus, Barbados. She holds a Ph.D. in Applied Social Research from the University of Manchester, an MSc in Economics and Econometrics from the University of Southampton and a BSc in Economics from UWI. Dr Jackman has many research interests, most of which fall under the broad umbrellas of inclusive development and economic issues in small island developing states. She is particularly interested in studies focusing on sexual prejudice, gender equality in the labour market and institutionalised discrimination.
