Biography
Dr. Rewaa Jalal is an Associate Professor based in University of Jeddah, specializing in plant sciences and microbiome research. Her work focuses on plant–microbe interactions, with particular interest in the role of beneficial microorganisms in enhancing plant growth, resilience, and natural disease suppression. Dr. Jalal has conducted research on plant-derived compounds and essential oils as sustainable biocontrol agents, evaluating their effectiveness against toxigenic fungi and agricultural contaminants. She also investigates how plant-associated microbiomes contribute to ecological stability and the production of bioactive metabolites important for plant defense. Through interdisciplinary research and collaboration, Dr. Jalal aims to advance environmentally friendly strategies for crop protection and strengthen scientific understanding of microbial contributions to plant health.
