Biography
Dr. Viktoria Zhukouskaya is a sociologist and gender expert whose work bridges academic research and international policy practice. She holds a dual PhD in Sociology (Social Anthropology) from the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon and in Management from emlyon business school. Her research examines gendered power, institutional violence, and solidarity in extreme contexts, focusing on women’s resistance and care practices under authoritarian regimes.
Viktoria has collaborated with the Council of Europe on advancing gender equality within Belarusian democratic institutions and previously worked at UNDP and UNFPA in Belarus, where she led national initiatives on gender mainstreaming, sustainable development, and women’s empowerment.
Currently teaching at the Grand École programme, she lectures on organizations, power, and sustainable development issues. Her recent publications address gendered organizing, solidarity, and resistance, and she has provided expert advice to European institutions on integrating feminist and inclusive approaches into governance frameworks. Combining ethnographic inquiry with feminist methodology, Viktoria’s interdisciplinary profile links organizational studies, gender theory, and human rights practice.
