Biography

Professor Tarig Elsheikh Mahmoud is a full professor in Natural Resource Economics and Agribusiness at Kordofan University in Sudan. He is also affiliated with Kampala International University in Uganda. In 2004, he earned his PhD in Natural Resource Economics from Dresden University of Technology in Germany, and he holds both an MSc and a BSc from the University of Khartoum. With 28 years of experience, he has taught, conducted research, and consulted for various institutions, including the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and the World Bank, focusing on the development of agriculture and natural resources. From 2019 to 2022, he served as the Secretary-General of the Sudanese Agriculture Board. Professor Mahmoud has published approximately 75 papers, articles, and books. In 2025, he was appointed as a full professor at Kampala International University.
