Biography

I am a physician (MBBS) and public health professional (MPH). I pursued my PhD research at the Institution of Health and Wellbeing, Federation University, Victoria, Australia, focusing on the mental health issues of migrants in Australia. Additionally, I serve as a sessional academic at this university, engaging in research, course development, teaching, marking, as well as coordination and moderation of various academic courses.

My work includes Acute Febrile Illness study in Bangladesh, hospital-based surveillance, malaria data digitalization in the Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh, conducting clinical trials (RCT) on sepsis among new borns and young infants, and RCT among arsenic-affected adults in Bangladesh. Additionally, I actively participated in several outbreak investigations, such as the COVID-19 outbreak, Nipah virus outbreak, pesticide outbreaks, and food-borne illness outbreaks.

I have been honoured with travel grants from the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH), the USA (2021), and the Nipah Virus International Conference, Singapore (2019).
