Biography
Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si., Apt. is the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) for the 2026–2031 term. A professor of pharmaceutical sciences, her research focuses on natural product–based medicines, sustainable health innovations, and the therapeutic potential of tropical medicinal plants. She has contributed extensively to scientific publications, interdisciplinary research collaborations, and the mentorship of young scientists. As an academic leader and researcher, she actively promotes innovation, excellence in higher education, and inclusive scientific development. Her work advances community well-being, strengthens local research capacity, and supports the responsible utilization of biodiversity, reflecting her commitment to creating meaningful societal impact through science, education, and sustainable development.
