Biography
I am a public health researcher and professor with almost two decades of experience. I possess a strong academic background with a PhD in Medical and Health Care Science, a Master's degree in Public Health (M.P.H), and a BA in Health Education and Community Health.
Over the years, I have focused on diabetes prevention and management, leveraging extensive experience in research, education, and program development. Throughout my career, I have served as a Public Health Research Team Member for the IDF Diabetes Atlas committee, conducting research on global diabetes prevalence, risk factors, and interventions. I have also developed and implemented school-based health promotion programs as a School Health Promotion specialist for the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Public Education Development Project.
In my previous role as a Health Educator at King Fahad Medical City, specialized in diabetes education, I established and led the first Diabetes Education Unit. I developed policies and procedures and educated individuals with type one and two diabetes, as well as gestational diabetes. I also implemented insulin pump training for patients and led the medical training unit responsible for internship students and new health education staff.
Apart from my excellent work in public health education and research, I have experience as a faculty member and supervisor for public health departments at various universities. I have presented at conferences and participated in national awareness campaigns for diabetes prevention.
