Biography
Prof. Dr. Arida Susilowati, S.Hut., M.Si. is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Indonesia. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Forestry (Silviculture) from IPB University in 2003, her Master’s degree in Forestry Science in 2008, and her Ph.D. in Tropical Silviculture in 2013. Her doctoral research focused on the genetic and morphological characterization of high resin-yielding Pinus merkusii and its propagation strategy. Since 2005, she has served as a lecturer and researcher at Universitas Sumatera Utara and was later promoted to Professor in forestry with specialization in tree genetics and biodiversity conservation. She has led and participated in numerous national and international research projects funded by the Indonesian government, BRIN, JSPS Core-to-Core Program, and the Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research. Her research interests include tropical forest biodiversity, conservation genetics, mangrove ecosystems, forest restoration, and the application of DNA barcoding and environmental DNA for sustainable ecosystem management
