Dr. Azharia Elbushra holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics. She has great experience in equilibrium analysis (general and partial equilibrium models) and social accounting matrix (SAM). She teaches courses related to economics such as agricultural economics, farm management, fish economics and livestock economics. She has many publications and presentations in the field of agricultural policy and international trade. She has been an AGRODEP member since October 2010. At present, Azharia is an Assistant Professor at the University of Juba where she teaches courses related to agricultural economics, supervises undergraduate and graduates research students. Before joining the University of Juba, Azharia worked for the Industrial and Consultancy Research Centre, Khartoum, Sudan. She holds a B.A. degree in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Khartoum, Sudan, an M.A. in Agricultural Economics from Faculty of Agriculture Science, University of Gezira, Wad Medani, Sudan, and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from Faculty of Agriculture, University of Khartoum. Her research interests include agricultural trade and policy, food security and poverty alleviation issues, liberalization policies, economic modelling (partial and equilibrium analysis) and production economics aspects.
