Biography
Prof Ogechi Adeola, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) of the University of Kigali, Rwanda, is dedicated to empowering African women, as shown through her significant contributions to gender issues. Formerly Head of Department of Operation, Marketing and Information Systems at Lagos Business School, Nigeria, she has published extensively, including two edited books on gender perspectives related to COVID-19 recovery and sustainable development in Africa, and a co-authored work on gender, climate action, and technology. In 2022, she served as a consultant for the International Labour Organization on a project for women’s economic empowerment in Nigeria. She also coached utility companies in Liberia and Ghana under the USAID Engendering Industries Workforce Accelerated Program, focusing on improving gender equality in male-dominated companies. Adeola founded the Digital Business Tutelage for Women Empowerment in Africa Initiative, aiming to help young African women realize their potential. Her efforts earned her the Female Achievers Recognition Award in 2022 and The Peak Performing Woman of the Year 2023 Award in Executive Education.
