Dr Khuloud Ali (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro) Brazil

Dr. Khuloud Ali is an Assistant Professor of Architecture and Sustainability, Architectural Engineer, and Environmental Designer specializing in AI-driven architecture, sustainable development, intelligent building systems, and climate-responsive design. She is an active member of the GlobalABC Sufficiency Hub (UNEP), the International Union of Architects (UIA), the Federation of Arab Engineers, the Saudi Green Building Forum (SGBF), and the Global Ambassadors of Sustainability, and has contributed as a UN COP30 speaker. She is also a postdoctoral researcher at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, where she earned her Doctor of Science in Architecture. She additionally holds a Master’s degree from Cairo University and a Bachelor’s degree from Damascus University. Her research focuses on environmental performance, sociocultural sustainability, and adaptive design, with emphasis on AI-driven systems such as predictive modeling and adaptive façades. She advocates for buildings as intelligent learning systems that enhance environmental performance and human well-being across diverse cultural contexts.
