Biography
Prof. Dr. Meshari Alsharif is a Professor of Organic Chemistry with Umm Al-Qura University, KSA. Throughout my academic career, I have dedicated my endeavors to advanced scientific disciplines, driven by a strong track record of scholarly publications in high-impact, peer-reviewed international journals across Organic Chemistry and Nanotechnology. My published research core expands across four distinctive pillars: Green & Sustainable Chemistry, focusing on metal-free synthesis and high-efficiency one-pot multicomponent reactions; the construction of Bioactive Heterocyclic Scaffolds (including thiophenes, pyrimidines, and chromenes) using hypervalent iodine reagents; Medicinal Chemistry, aimed at developing targeted drug delivery systems, antimicrobial agents, and potent cytotoxic complexes to combat cancer; and the synthesis of Porphyrin derivatives and functionalized Inorganic-Organic Nanohybrids for cutting-edge biomedical and technological frameworks.
Parallel to my research, "Quality Education" serves as the cornerstone of my academic philosophy and leadership practice. This is actively demonstrated through my administrative responsibilities and institutional committee assignments. I am deeply committed to enhancing institutional excellence, leading strategic development and restructuring initiatives, securing academic accreditation, and monitoring global university ranking benchmarks. This commitment is further emphasized through my membership in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Committee at Umm Al-Qura University, alongside steering specialized development and faculty professional advancement committees. Through these roles, I contribute to aligning innovative research outputs with advanced quality frameworks, ultimately cultivating a sustainable educational environment that inspires innovation, aligns with global standards, and meets the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
