Biography
Dr. Srilalitha Sagi is experienced in International Business & Cross-Cultural Management, Organisational Behaviour, and Kaizen Events of Japanese Management (JMS) working with the Department of International Business. She has a total experience of 27 years (7 years) as executive in exports and imports with Hyundai Heavy Engineering Ltd also dealt with Shipping & Logistics, and 20 years with GITAM Deemed to be University as a faculty member. She is the current Chairperson of EEP/MDP (Executive Education Programs Management Development Programs) and was Deputy Director of International Affairs and Projects at GITAM University (2019-2021).
Education:
- She attended the London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE), UK, for an Executive Education in Entrepreneurial Studies with Innovation and Change Management. She has an MBA, MHRM, and M.A (Psychology), M.A Philosophy from Andhra University and a Ph.D. in international business (Thesis titled: Kaizen Events in the Indian Automotive Industry a study) from GITAM School of Business, deemed to be a University, Visakhapatnam.
Certifications
- She is a certified master trainer with Zero Defect and Zero Effect (ZED), the Quality Council of India, and the National Monitoring & Implementation Unit (NMIU) for the ZED scheme of the MSME, Govt. of India. She is a certified trainer from the Indian Society for Training & Development and a faculty member for Training & Development & Change & Innovation Management for ISTD, New Delhi.
Fellowships & Recognitions
- She is a recipient of a summer research fellowship from SOMNEED, Takayama, Japan, and from CII-India and ITC ILTD. She is an implementor/trainer of SCORE (Sustaining Competitive and Responsible Enterprises) as part of the Promoting Sustainable Enterprises in India (PSEI) initiative of the I.L.O (International Labour Organization.
International Assignments
- She is a visiting professor (Short Term) at Toyo University Japan (2022) and worked as a faculty member at Mekelle University, Ethiopia. She has been to the UK, Australia, Japan, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam on several academic assignments.

- She has published in the field of cross-cultural management, kaizen events, and organizational behaviour in ABDC journals. Her research interests include kaizen events, Subsistence marketplaces, Cross-Cultural Management, decent work, and productivity for sustainable development.

- She worked on consultancy projects with MPEDA (Marine Products Development Authority), Japan Sea Food Quality Association, Teejay India Ltd, Vedanta General Cargo Pvt Ltd, and Seeds India Pvt. Ltd, GATI Logistics trains the employees on change management, 5 S, and quality management.
