Biography
Environmental Microbiologist and Biotechnologist
Researcher, Institute of Biology, Mongolian Academy of Sciences. Background in biology, biochemistry, and food biotechnology with a focus on soil and environmental microbiology. Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the National University of Mongolia and a Master’s degree in Food Biotechnology from the Mongolian University of Science and Technology.
Research experience includes soil degradation assessment using enzyme activity indicators, protein biochemistry and bioactive peptides, and molecular biology techniques. Former researcher at the Laboratory of Protein Biochemistry, Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, with hands-on experience in biochemical analysis of food products and raw materials.
Since 2017, a researcher at the Microbial Synthesis Laboratory, Institute of Biology, working on antimicrobial and antifungal screening of plant-derived compounds and microbial biotechnology. Participated in national research programs on biofertilizers and biological control agents, with experience isolating epiphytic yeasts from wild plants and evaluating their antagonistic activity against bacterial and fungal pathogens.
Currently involved in an international project on soil microbial activity across climate gradients in Mongolia, responsible for microbial community analysis using high-throughput sequencing, and assessment of fungal–bacterial dynamics.
Research interests focus on microbial molecular biology, soil and water metagenomics, environmental pollution, and bioremediation, contributing to sustainable land management, environmental health, and climate resilience in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
