Biography
Dena Abdelghaffar is a passionate advocate for educational reform in post-conflict regions and a UK-based economics teacher. She holds a BSc degree in Economics, Politics, and International Relations and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Secondary Education. Dena blends academic rigour with practical experience, notably from her time in Sudan, where she supported entrepreneurship education. Additionally, her volunteer work in Tanzania and her efforts with refugee learners in the UK have strengthened her commitment to rebuilding education systems in fragile states, deepening her understanding of the global education crisis.
In her role, Dena leads digital innovation within her department and actively contributes to integrating AI in education. Her talk, “Rebuilding Minds, Rebuilding a Nation: Educational Solutions for Post-Conflict Sudan,” discusses scalable, community-driven strategies to restore learning and instil hope in post-conflict Sudan.
