Biography
Dr. Hemma Yulfi is a parasitologist and medical educationist whose work bridges infectious disease research and the design of high‑quality medical curricula. As a lecturer and curriculum architect at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara, she contributes to strengthening medical training through evidence‑based teaching, competency‑driven frameworks, and student‑centered learning environments.
Her academic background includes a medical degree from Universitas Sumatera Utara, a Diploma in Applied Parasitology and Entomology from IMR Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and a Master of Medical Education from the University of Sydney. She is currently pursuing her PhD in parasitology, focusing on molecular and epidemiological aspects of parasitic diseases, with particular interest in zoonoses and preventive innovation.
Through her combined roles in research and education, Dr. Hemma contributes to broader efforts that enhance community health and strengthen medical education systems. Her work supports ongoing initiatives related to improving health outcomes and expanding access to quality learning—areas closely aligned with the spirit of the Sustainable Development Goals.
