Biography
I (Dr Mohammad Ehsanul Kabir) am working as a Senior Research Assistant at the University of South Wales, United Kingdom. My current research involves Rohingya population in Bangladesh. I have completed doctoral work (PhD) at School of Environment and Science, Griffith University, Australia. My PhD project involves unpacking vulnerabilities of the internal migrants living in the North-West drought prone areas of Bangladesh. This thesis compares different drivers of vulnerability that are influencing individual’s decisions to migrate from their geographic origins. Previously, I have obtained Master’s degree from Monash University Australia in International Development and Environmental Analysis and Bachelor’sdegree in social science from Independent University Bangladesh (IUB). I also worked as a Sessional Teaching Staff in Griffith University, Australia. My teaching and research expertise involves global environmental challenges, human migration and inclusion of socially disadvantaged groups in various development interventions. I worked as an Assistant Professor (currently on leave) at Dhaka School of Economics, a constituent institution of the University of Dhaka. Before that, I worked as a Lecturer in the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB).
