Biography
Dr. Muhammed Abdul Hakkim Kandi Al-Azhari is the Managing Director of Markaz Knowledge City, an integrated township focusing on living, spirituality, education, healthcare, and commerce. He is also the Rector of Jamia Markaz, a leading Islamic University in South India affiliated with Al-Azhar University, and serves as the Chief Imam of Jamiul Futuh - The Indian Grand Masjid. His other roles include General Secretary of the Relief and Charitable Foundation of India (RCFI), Chief Patron of the Ideal Association for Minority Education (IAME), Secretary of the Islamic Education Board of India, Rector of Jamia Madeenathunnoor, Director of Poonoor Health Care Society, Chairman of the Institute of Human Resource Activation and Management (IHRAM), and a member of the Calicut Chamber of Commerce.
He has attended significant conferences worldwide, including the Al Azhar Alumni Conference (Malaysia, 2008), Doha Conference of Interfaith Dialogue (Qatar, 2009), International Islamic Conference (Mauritania, 2009), Peace Conference (Chechnya, 2013), World Islamic Scholars Initiative (Turkey, 2013, 2014), International Conference on Spirituality (Chechnya, 2014), Reviving Spirit of Islam Conference (India, 2014), International Islamic Conference (Algeria, 2021), and Conference on Religious Extremism (Egypt, 2022).
Dr. Al-Azhari has traveled to over 30 countries, including K.S.A, Qatar, U.A.E, Oman, Kuwait, Jordan, Bahrain, Turkey, Yemen, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, Hong Kong, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Thailand, Mauritania, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Palestine, Morocco, Libya, Russia, Egypt, Maldives, Algeria, and Chechnya.
His published works include "Joy of Emulation" (English), "Anudavanathinte aanadham-Shamail e Rasool" (Malayalam and Kannada), "Thiru Kesham, Madeenayude Sammanam" (Malayalam), "Bosphorusnte Bagyam" (Malayalam), "Vismaya Vilaasam" (Malayalam), "Bheegarathayude Adiverukal" (Malayalam), "Thiru Nabiye Snehicha Mahanmaar" (Malayalam), and "Qasedathul Burda Translation" (Malayalam).
He holds a Hafiz degree from Jamia Markazu Ssaquafathi Ssunniyya, a degree in Islamic Theology from the same institution, an M.A in Urdu Language & Literature from Bangalore University, special training for community leaders from Al-Azhar University in Cairo, and a PhD in Urdu from Dr. B.R Ambedkar Bihar University.
Dr. Al-Azhari is proficient in Malayalam, Arabic, English, Hindi, Urdu, and has adequate knowledge of Kannada, Tamil, and Kashmiri.
