Biography
Mark Maritz is a lecturer in the Department of Management at Rhodes University in Grahamstown. His areas of expertise include Project and Programme Management, Supply Chain Management, Risk Management, and general management. His background in Information Technology allows him to integrate technology specific topics into his courses, which adds an increased level of depth to topics.
His varied work experience includes: Director of IT at Kingswood College in Grahamstown. Project Manager (both within IT and general business) for Vodafone, in the United Kingdom, where he performed various roles during his time with the company. His responsibility included managing various large telecommunications and CRM/Billing projects, and included managing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for Software Deliverables and was their Head of Test for a period of 8 months. He worked extensively as a Business Change Manager, reporting to the company directors.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree through Rhodes University majoring in Information Systems. He was previously registered as Professional Member of the Computer Society of South Africa, and a PRINCE2 qualified Project Manager.
