Biography
My name is James Mubangizi, a Lecturer and Head of the Department of Oil and Gas at Victoria University, Kampala, Uganda. I am currently pursuing a PhD by coursework and research in Energy Economics and Governance at Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda, which I began in 2019. My doctoral research focuses on the nexus between economic growth, renewable energy consumption, environmental degradation, and climate change in Uganda. This study aims to provide evidence-based insights to inform sustainable energy policies and climate change mitigation strategies in developing economies. I am currently working on three manuscripts: a systematic and objective review of drivers of climate change and emerging perspectives; an empirical analysis of the Economic Growth–Climate Change Nexus in Uganda using the novel Dynamic ARDL Simulation Model; and a systematic theoretical review on climate change and emerging theoretical perspectives. My work contributes to the growing body of knowledge on energy economics and environmental governance in Africa.
