Biography
Noor Qussay AlShaikhli is a PhD researcher at Altınbaş University, Türkiye, and a lecturer at Al-Nahrain University, Iraq. Her research focuses on the intersection of artificial intelligence, environmental sustainability, and data-driven decision support. With a strong commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (particularly SDG 11 and SDG 13), Dr. AlShaikhli develops innovative machine learning frameworks for air quality prediction and ecological planning. Her pioneering work includes the Nature–AI Infusion Framework and the Tree per Human National Greening Initiative, both designed to promote sustainable urban transformation in Iraq through the fusion of technology and nature-based solutions. She has also contributed to research in environmental modelling, intelligent optimisation, and smart city design, with an emphasis on interpretability, efficiency, and social impact. Beyond her academic achievements, AlShaikhli actively advocates for sustainable development and community awareness in Iraq and the wider region. Her research and public engagement aim to empower policymakers, educators, and citizens to build a cleaner, smarter, and more resilient future.
