Biography
Professor Virginia Murray, qualified in medicine, works for Public Health England as the Public Health Consultant in Global Disaster Risk Reduction. Currently she is also the vice-chair of the UN International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR) Scientific and Technical Advisory Group supporting the implementation of the UN Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015- 2030. She has considerable experience in advising on toxicological and environmental public health aspects of acute and chronic chemical and extreme event incidents and has developed evidence base information and advice on toxicological risks and extreme events, including heatwaves, cold weather and flooding, to prepare for, respond to and recover from these hazards in England.
