Biography
Dr. Batjargal Zamba is a distinguished Mongolian scientist and environmental policy expert with more than five decades of experience in climate change, meteorology, biodiversity conservation, water resources, and disaster risk reduction. He currently serves as Advisor on Science and International Cooperation at the Information and Research Institute for Meteorology, Hydrology and Environment (IRIMHE) and as Visiting Professor at Chuo University, Japan. Dr. Batjargal previously served as Mongolia’s Minister for Nature and Environment, where he led major environmental reforms and promoted protected area management. He has also represented the World Meteorological Organization at the United Nations in New York and worked extensively with UNDP and other international organizations. A pioneer in digital climate and hydrological data systems in Mongolia, he has authored more than 120 scientific publications and contributed significantly to international cooperation on climate and environmental governance.
