Biography
Sarah Ahmed Ali is a third-semester PhD candidate in the Engineering System Management Program at the American University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Her doctoral research focuses on sustainable energy transitions and urban development, with a particular emphasis on renewable energy innovation. She is currently investigating the integration of solar power and smart grid technologies, as exemplified by projects like Masdar City, to enhance energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions in the Gulf region. Her work contributes to global efforts in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7), Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11), and Climate Action (SDG 13). Sarah aims to contribute practical insights for policymakers and urban planners in designing effective renewable energy policies and infrastructure in rapidly developing urban environments.
