Biography
Dr Allam Ahmed is a sustainable development and knowledge-economy specialist and the Founding President of the World Association for Sustainable Development (WASD), with leadership spanning science, technology and innovation policy, knowledge management, and technology transfer. His work focuses on practical, policy-relevant approaches to implementing the UN 2030 Agenda, including public–private partnership models and capacity building for sustainable development. He is also Director of the Middle Eastern Knowledge Economy Institute (MEKEI) and has held academic leadership roles at the University of Sussex, including Founding Director of the MSc International Management. Dr Ahmed is widely published as an editor and author across peer‑reviewed journals, books, and conference proceedings, with an extensive portfolio (120+ publications including 30+ books) addressing sustainability, innovation, higher education, entrepreneurship, and development challenges across Africa and the MENA region.
