Biography
Dr. Seema Joshi is a Professor of Economics, Department of Commerce at Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi. She has authored 3 books, several research papers and articles that have been published in reputed Indian and international journals and books. She is the only woman in the first batch of the Asian Productivity Organization (APO), Tokyo certified Productivity Specialists from India who are expected to assist in national productivity drives for sustainable socioeconomic development. She is the recipient of the ‘Shrestha award’ i.e., Distinguished Teachers Award (2018) conferred by Association of National Exchange Members of India. Seema has honed her expertise while working at respected policy and research organizations in India and abroad. She was the first Sir Ratan Tata Senior Fellow (2007-08) at the Institute of Economic Growth, and ICCR’s First Tagore Chair Professor to Vietnam in 2011-12. The APO,Tokyo acknowledged her as a ‘National Expert’ for its projects thrice, in 2015- 16 ,2019-20 and in 2022-2023. Seema conducted six training programmes for scientists, public sector executives and senior bureaucrats during her deputation to the Indian Institute of Public administration (IIPA) from 2005-07. She has advised the government and chambers of commerce as a member of their expert committees and served as a ‘Women Community Representative’ in the selection committee of an Indian PSU. She was also nominated as one of members of the review committee (comprising of eight members) constituted by The Kerala State Higher Education Council in the year 2012.She is serving as a Member of Editorial Advisory Boards of several journals She has been an invited speaker at national and international level on her area of expertise.
